What Does Neurofeedback Actually Do?
Neurofeedback is a process that trains the brain so that it functions in a more healthy manner. It is an advanced form of biofeedback, using electroencephalograph (EEG) equipment, which provides the brain with information about its internal electrical processing.
The brain then modifies its own electrical activity so that it can respond with more flexibility. As this flexibility increases, thought processes become clear and focused. At the same time, emotional swings begin to calm.
The electrical impulses that are being generated by the neurons are processed by a computer and fed back as very brief interruptions in the music. The brain responds to these micro-pauses in the music by modifying its own electrical impulses! This is the basis of the transformation.
This process occurs while relaxing in a comfortable chair and listening to music or watching a DVD.
The brain makes all of the adjustments without any conscious effort on the part of the client.
